#RomaUE2017, the 60th Anniversary of the Treaties of Rome
On 25th March 2017, Europe will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Treaties of Rome, one of the most remarkable historical moments of the European integration process.
Dialogue with citizens on the future of Europe - Rome (Roman Aquarium). Meeting with Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. (European Commission Representation in Italy).
Exhibit "The Banknote of Ideas" - Rome (Banca d'Italia, Villa Huffer). Presentation of the new 50 Euros banknote of the Europa series, which will be in circulation on 4 April 2017. A multimedia booth will show the characteristics of security and the printing techniques of the new banknote. An exhibition will be dedicated to the sketches presented by the schools that participated in the Award "Let's invent a banknote". Until 9th April. (Bank of Italy)
"WE_WelcomeEurope", competition for the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome
"WE_WelcomeEurope: hopes and ideas for the future Union" involves students of Italian lower and upper secondary schools and is meant to provide young generations with food for thought on Europe and make them share ideas, in particular on values, opportunities and the importance of being European citizens.
Sandro Gozi underscored the relevance of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, “which will enable us to renew our commitment for a better Union, by involving those countries willing to safeguard and relaunch the European project. This message should be addressed especially to young generations, with the purpose of restoring their hope for the future”.
